Default Splits Are Here
BananaSplit 1.5.2 makes percentage splits faster: set default splits for each group, auto-adjust member shares, and spend less time doing split math by hand.

Welcome to product updates from the BananaSplit newsletter, now also living here on the blog.
This is where we will share product updates, launch notes, and the small improvements that make shared expenses feel faster, clearer, and less like group accounting.
Here is what is new in the latest update, BananaSplit 1.5.2.
New: default splits
You can now choose a default split for each group.
Whenever you add an expense, BananaSplit automatically fills in your preferred percentages.
Going 60/40 with your partner? Set it once. Split faster every time after that.

Default splits are especially useful for groups where the same logic keeps coming back:
- couples splitting rent, groceries, or subscriptions
- roommates with recurring household costs
- trips where one person is covering a different share
- any group that does not live in a perfect 50/50 world
The goal is simple: fewer taps, fewer repeated decisions, fewer tiny moments where the app makes you do work it should remember.
New: auto-adjust percentages
Percentage splits are now easier to edit.
When you change one member's share, you can choose which other shares should adjust automatically.
No more recalculating every line by hand. No more chasing the last few percentage points. No more turning a quick expense into a math exercise.

You decide the split. BananaSplit helps keep the total clean.
Fixes and improvements
This release also includes a few quality-of-life upgrades:
- cleaner group settings
- easier select-all and deselect-all for friends
- faster app loading
Small things, but they matter. Shared money happens in the middle of real plans, so the app needs to stay quick and get out of the way.
More soon.
