Why a festival?

Shared money, in its purest form.

A festival concentrates everything BananaSplit exists for: friends on a trip, dozens of small payments, and the wish not to let a bill ruin the moment.

That is why we went to Paredes de Coura. Not to set up a perfect stall, but to listen, talk, and test our idea where it has to work — a festival.

Improvising is turning the unexpected into motion.

    We reached the river

    Eight people, cardboard signs, packed coolers, and more than 500 drinks and gummies. The first BananaSplit campaign started handmade.

  2. 02

    The village answered

    Curiosity showed up in the first minute. People stopped, talked with us, and recognised a problem they already lived in their groups.

  3. 03

    We came back at night

    After we had to leave the first spot, we found another way. We moved until the message could be seen — and we handed over the last drink.

Expenses at a festival

The group is dynamic. So are the bills.

Transport, stays, supermarket runs, meals, and drinks pass through different people. BananaSplit keeps it all in the same group and shows, without drama, who paid and who owes.

  • Create the group before the trip and add everyone.
  • Create guests for people who do not want to install the app and keep everyone in the bills.
  • Log transport, camping, supermarket runs, and rounds as they happen.
  • Split each expense only among who took part — not everything has to be even.
  • See spending by category and find out if the group spent more on drinks or on a place to sleep.
  • Check the balances at the end and make as few transfers as possible.
